They seem to have trouble transferring the medication you are prescribed at detox to the facility you are sent to. I spent several days without being on any medication. I went two nights with barely enough sleep. The counselors and therapy sessions were good but the "recovery counselors" were as sick as the patients. I was in the house for executives and you are basically stuck in a house with eight others all day except to go to a meeting at night. I was claustrophobic and felt trapped. Plus, the price the quoted to us on the phone was not the price they charged. It felt disorganized to me. Overall, I got a lot out of the experience and am sober but I would probably would not recommend it as a "first choice" for rehab.

I absolutely loved JourneyPure at the River. I have been to several treatment facilities, including one in California, and JP was by far the most helpful. I currently have a little over 9 months sober and I have JourneyPure to thank for that. The only complaint I have is that upper level management seems to be concerned with how much money they can make and not the addicts lives they are working with. However, having been to all kinds of facilities this is normal. The recovery coaches and staff that works one on one with patients are amazing, and it’s obvious how much they care about the people they are working with.

I cannot speak highly enough of this facility and its staff. I spent close to 60 days here and it truly was life saving and changing. I always felt like my needs were met, and never felt like my voice was ignored. This is not a passive program, and I was encouraged and challenged to actually work a program of recovery and that gave me a leg up once I left treatment. They give you the skills and tools to build a strong foundation for your recovery, but they will not do it for you. This is an active program and as long as you actively participate in every aspect of this program, it will change your life. The staff were incredibly supportive in guiding me through early recovery. From group and individual therapy to equine and adventure sessions, the folks there coached me, challenged me, and supported me every step along the way. If you are looking for a place to get help and start fresh on your journey, this is the place for you.

Journey Pure and their staff completely turned my life around. I am forever thankful for the resources and coping skills they taught me. I was 4-5 months pregnant while in treatment and they always took care of me and my mental/physical health. I now live a life I never thought I was worthy of having with my son who will never know his mother as an addict. I never thought I would miss rehab like I do. I'm now coming up on 10 months clean. An absolute life-changing experience.

I was only in the detox unit but because of the facility I was transferring to I was there several days. I had multiple anxiety attacks to which the staff was very calming, caring, and even one staff member offered to pray with me after I shared my faith journey with her. The staff was beyond accommodating making sure I was all set to go to my next stop. They even made sure I got to the bus on time. They must have shared with the boys driver a bit about me b/c he was also very kind to me. If I ever had to do it again I would return to JP the River. Dr Scales was my psychiatrist and went beyond making sure I got proper care.
