I cant believe this place is still open. I was a patient here in 1994 and back then it wasn't the cleanest. The food was God awful, the rooms were not that great, but that said when I think of some of the places I stayed in my addiction, then this place was like the Hilton. What I got here was Clean!! I can't say enough good things about the staff. They truly cared about their patients. I was coming off 10 bags of heroin a day and my detox was virtually painless. I remember only one of the counselors names.. it was Charles. He was phenomenal. So if your looking for the Ritz forget it, but if you want to get clean, down and dirty is the best way!! Put it this way, before this place I did 30 days at a place called the Seafield Center out in the Hamptons and I used the day I got out. It all just depends on how much you really want it.

I can't speak yet about the staff or detox program, however while waiting to be put into a room, patients are served spicy food and jerk chicken. Does that seem smart when most of them will be going through opiate withdrawals and will be pooping their pants? People are also smoking cigarettes in the bathrooms for the past 5hrs and no one seems to care.
