Asana Recovery is a family owned and operated alcohol and drug treatment program located in Orange County, California just a couple miles from the Pacific Ocean. The program is a state licensed and nationally accredited (Joint Commission, CARF and ASAM) for medical detoxification (detox), residential treatment (RTC), partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP).

Asana Recovery’s clientele fall primarily into two distinct demographics:

  • Male and females between the ages of 18-30 suffering from addiction to opiates and/or methamphetamine addiction
  • Male and females between the ages of 40-55 suffering from alcohol addiction

Additionally, because of our unique size and individualized programming we are also able to accommodate unusual needs such as:

  • Approved pets
  • Married Couples
  • Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) at all levels of care
  • Gender identity issues

Utilizing evidence based practices and harm reduction techniques, our management and clinical staff include some of the most experienced and accomplished addiction treatment professionals in the industry. Providing empathetic support for clients entering treatment whether it is their first or umpteenth episode is our specialty.

The “Asana Way” focuses on providing personalized and comprehensive treatment plans for both men and women in recovery. It embodies our forward-thinking approach to the treatment of addiction, pairing traditional and alternative methods, and serving all clients with compassion, while providing appropriate structure and practicing essential values in work and in play.

Treatment planning begins immediately upon admission and during detoxification with involvement in individual and group therapy sessions and case management. Medication assisted detoxification, or detox, from opiates, alcohol and/or other drugs is managed closely by the onsite medical team to ensure client safety and comfort. Non-traditional detox protocols are often implemented to better match each client’s uniqueness.

Daily treatment programming is specifically geared towards addressing underlying issues driving the addiction while also developing recovery tools. Group therapy is interwoven between individual and family sessions. Therapy modalities can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Traditional 12-Step and Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) groups are attended on a nightly basis.

Mindfulness, physical exercise and healthy eating are incorporated into daily treatment programming. Most meals are prepared by a chef with a focus on replenishing basic vitamins and minerals. The nutritionist provides dietary analysis, consulting and meal preparation training. Daily physical activity can range from beach walks to cross fit training to one-on-one boxing with our personal trainers.

I have been incredibly impressed with Asana Recovery! The intake department, HR Team and each individual from their therapists, nurses & support staff are highly motivated & caring. Each person here has made me feel welcomed, safe and a part of something special. The clients here have a connection which seems genuine. They look out for one another & are respectful not only amongst each other but with staff as well. The properties are neat & clean while offering plenty of amenities. The outings are fun and the groups are very helpful. I would recommend Asana for anyone looking to change their lives for the better and build a solid foundation for their recovery.

This has been one of the best experiences in my life period. The staff are REAL as they come, they helped in making my recovery so unique just as unique as myself. I had lots of laughs as well not to mention morning meditation at the beach to reflect was such a pure experience. I thank all the staff at Asana Recovery. Thank you for guiding me to gain my power back, and guiding me to find myself again.

I’ve been here for a little over a week and so far this has been my best treatment experience out of the 5 times I have gone. Staff is extremely helpful and truly care about the clients, they take you on outings like to the beach or to do other activities unlike other places I’ve been to where you’re stuck in the facility throughout your whole stay. Groups are informative and useful, definitely would recommend Asana for anyone who is wanting to better themselves and change their life!

This is the first review I have written, but I felt it was important to make this one for anyone out there that might be struggling to sort through the hundreds of treatment options available as I did. Honestly, I decided on Asana because they were great about working with my insurance, had excellent accreditations, and well… the weather in Southern California is amazing. But, once I got here, I realized what a truly remarkable decision I had made. Asana feels like home. The staff not only takes care of our needs, but really listens to what will help each one of us in our individual recovery and then goes above and beyond to make those things happen. The therapists take the time with each of their patients to really get to the root of what is going on and then provide practical steps and solutions to help get to the cause. The process groups don’t just seek to repeat the same black and white techniques I have been exhausted by in the past, but take your individual needs into consideration and structure the discussions accordingly. There is freedom to choose not only your own recovery path, but also basic freedoms that I was denied in other facilities I have attended before. Just as one simple example (I won’t get into the specifics of my therapy here or I would provide many more), nature is an extremely important part of my own personal recovery, and they actually put together outdoor trips… such as one to beautiful Crystal Cove nearby. I not only feel like a person again, but I am finally finding my life… a life force I always knew was in there but have failed to uncover time and time again. My Asana tribe has helped make that possible. If you are still reading this, I wish you the best for you or your loved one in recovery. I hope you find the best next step... all the love!
