The layout of this VA is amazing. There is no labyrinth to navigate. The staff can be less civil than I would like, but in comparison to private clinics it they are ahead of the competition.

I retired from the Army about 10 years ago. Always relied on my Tricare insurance for medical care. But since I get VA disability, thought I would try the Austin Clinic. It was an amazing experience and I have returned there ever since as a "regular." Once you get past the noisy lobby, the long line at the lab and all the "volunteers" wanting to give you directions, the medical personnel are top notch. I have obtained a hearing aid with excellent care and follow-up, I now use a VA doc as my primary care physician and think the world of her. I had a colonoscopy here and it went like clockwork and was pain free. Everyone I have met with at this location are smart, caring and pleasant. Sorry about those who complain about long waits on the phone or in the labs, but just bring a book and expect to wait. It will be worth your time. I love having this clinic in Austin.
