not really understanding why this place has got so many bad reviews? i was 16 when i was first admitted here. yes, the first few days were nerve racking and of course i wanted to go home but that’s just all part of my anxiety. the staff were okay, depending who was working at the time i was there, for the most part. it’s true that depending who was working said day the rules would always change which isn’t the best thing and was annoying when i was allowed one thing by one person and not allowed to do it by someone else. i went here twice, the last time it was around christmas time and it was super awesome. i got to bake cookies at the school and met some really nice people. some days are boring, but, that’s mainly when we just don’t have anything planned. for the most part, we’re always doing something whether it being group, art therapy, school, or watching a movie. the food is good for hospital food. i loved my time here. not even gonna lie, the best time of the five to six years of dealing with my anxiety & depression were spent here. the whole place is gorgeous, especially when the sun was setting. sometimes we’d be able to be outside and i’d sit on the swing and just watch the sun go down. it was really a life changing experience at the time. i understand that some people may have different opinions, depending what unit they were in or what staff is working there and how they treat you. but i personally think this place is pretty amazing. i won’t say it didn’t have SOME flaws, but, it’s still a pretty great place to be in to lead you into the path to a more mentally stable place. thank you for the two years of growth and for giving me the opportunity to experience something new. i won’t ever forget it.
