My father was recently released after a 10 day hospital stay. EVERYONE from the gentleman in the parking lot to the neurosurgeon was incredible. The nursing staff, cleaning staff, the transport staff all were wonderful. They were professional, pleasant and went out of there way to make him and the entire family comfortable. I'll be honest, I figured we'd need private duty nurses to help with his care since its a government entity but it was not necessary. I can only speak for the inpatient services but they were great.

The majority of the medical staff are generally good.. The worst thing is PARKING and lots of ghetto type / personality disorder type employees who lack class and professionalism are loud and boisterous and rude and just repulsive. The cafeteria is way way way overpriced - the mini PX acts as if they are Sax Fifth Avenue or Nordstrom with their quadruple jacked up prices .. Pharmacy is horrible they need to overhaul the old system of getting medications and get some advanced state if the art technology

1. Just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Morales and all the amazing doctors, nurses, and members of the staff, for helping me with the utmost professionalism and sincere care in a time when I really needed it. Your dedication is seriously impressive. 2. I also wanted to thank the doctor who switched the conversation to spanish so that my dad could understand what was happening. You didn't have to do this and it meant so much to me. As well as your knowledge and way of treating people. 3. Thank you so much ER nurse and doctor who gave me hope as soon as you started to take care of me...just watching you guys work gave me peace of mind that everything was going to be fine. Thank you all for your service ❤

A BIG UPs to the VA ER team on the night I visited (my visit was on 23Jun19 around 8p. I was welcomed by an extremely helpful young man as I entered the emergency room, he was very nice (wish I knew his name, but I remembered, he had a slight airfro). Erica (Sunshine) "good mornin" was amazing she was very nice and pleasant. Anna RN,  Dr. E. Pulg (Critical Care), Christian H and one other guy sorry...you know who you are were wonderful I making sure I received the care I was seeking. I forgot/lost my meds during my travels to the Miami area on the way on a cruise. I was going to be away from home for a week. I quickly found the closest VA to the hotel I was staying and visited for what I thought would be a dreaded visit, but it was nothing even close to what I received. Everyone took care of me procedurally with the best of care. Being a sister VA (John D. Dingell) employee/veteran I was treated with the best of care and respect. My visit was quick and effective, I got the care I came for and now I can enjoy my vacation without the worry of having a possible health scare, thank you VAMC Miami from #johnddingell #detroit #whereveteranscomefirst #vamcmiami
