Went there to access the 'Needle Exchange Program' that occurs twice a week on Thursday's & Sunday's between the hours of 05:00pm to Midnight, located in their rear parking lot. They have a white van usually on Thursday's at the middle area of the parking lot and on Sundays they usually have a RV parked directly behind the building on the lower section of the parking area. Parking area for the Exchange is street parking only since the LGBT Center is closed by then. Access to their rear parking is usually through the Exit Only gate on the North end of the building. They offer everything from clean new syringes, cookers, cotton, alcohol pads, condoms, tourniquets, disposable saline solution (that's not intended for injecting but is still better then using unclean water), overdose opiate blockers, syringe disposal canisters, and even offer STD & HIV tests that gives the infected or clean bill of health within 30 minutes. Great place for those who inject their poisons directly.

All the services at the LGBT center have been wonderful. My general practitioner is here and the switch was well worth it. They have been kind and understanding in ways my prior drs have never been.

The LA LGBT Ctr helped me get my 1st job here in Los Angeles in 1978, gave me the opportunity to be a part of what a 'community' looks/feels like by doing their 545 mile AIDS Life Cycle bike ride, along w/so much more to empower the gay, lesbian, bi, trans communities. The services that encompasses this non-profit are too many to mention here in a blurb. Good people in a safe space for the LGBTQ community.

I called about counseling, was told it would require an intake meeting. I went to the center on July 5th and met with some counselor for an intake evaluation. I went there because I can not afford to pay a counselor's full fee. I was hoping to get some financial help with my mental health issues. I was told there is a 12 week waiting period before any decision can be made. But, I was sent a bill for $200.00 dollars on August 16, payable by August 24. Beware!! Be certain you ask if there is ANY charge before accepting an appointment. I think this was very disingenuous on the part of the center. And, I am very disappointed. Followup... I called the billing office and received wonderful help in addressing my billing issues. They were polite, professional and helpful with explaining the insurance issues. Thank you

They used to let me use the restroom, but they prefer it for their own. I have urinary incontinence and it's on my route so i ago in. I'm glad the ivar library put porta potties outside to combat homeless people peeing on the street. But this place doesn't allow that consideration.

An amazing place. Dedicated and super friendly staff. People giving them a lot of undeserved, very harsh ratings. People - we're in a pandemic. Center may...
